Hello, Target!

I recently posted this picture on Instagram, and ended up with a lot of questions and comments about the shirt I was wearing. Turns out it's from trusty ol' TARGET! Yes, Target! I went in looking for Brita Filters, and came out with about 4 new shirts. This seems to happen just about every time I step foot in Target.

As for the fit of the shirt, I always go for the oversized look. I went with a medium, however if you have a bustier chest I would recommend sizing up as it's a bit tight.

Billabong

I absolutely love the transition from Spring to Summer when it comes to apparel. For most of the year it's safe to say I dress in my uniform shades of black, white and gray. However in the Summer I like to try and spice it up a bit, so I was super excited to snag this floral dress from Billabong. Not to mention, it has this awesome cutout in the back! What's not to love?!

Whenever I make my "commute" to work each morning, it consists of about 15 steps outside my backdoor and into my little studio right in my backyard. Occasionally my Summer interns make an appearance when they feel like it. Meet Schotzie & Rusty, my Sister's trusty pups, and models for the day.

Follow Your Light

             Phurba Necklace

We are doing things a little bit differently this season, and launching a few items at a time for our Spring 2016 Collection, Follow Your Light.

Following your Light is all about pursuing what makes you happy in life. We are so busy in our day-to-day lives of pleasing others and accomplishing that massive to-do list, that we forget to take a moment to breathe, and follow that inner light of happiness.

To me happiness comes in many forms. It can be as easy as being outside in nature, and soaking up the sun.  Or even eating a healthy meal with friends and family. Happiness can also be as complex as forgiveness. But all in all Happiness comes from Love.

For this collection, I was inspired by my recent trip to Mongolia. While I was there I learned a lot about Buddhism, and the daily practice of what being Buddhist entails.

I loved experiencing something that was so outside of my everyday routine and culture. I found joy in learning about Buddhism, and even in the power of believing in something greater than yourself...and that is what following your light is all about.

The Follow your Light collection is a series of pieces that hold intention, and symbolism. Each necklace is a reminder to believe in yourself, and to follow your inner light. Whether you need a little help removing obstacles, or even an amulet to remind yourself that you are of Pure Spirit.

The photo above is of our O.M.Ganesh Necklace. Although Ganesh is a Hindu God, it is also an object of veneration for many Buddhists. Ganesh is an elephant-headed God, whom is widely revered to as the Lord of New Beginnings and Remover of Obstacles.

The OM Symbol, which is known throughout many cultures, is one with a variety of definitions and meanings. It is said that OM is the all encompassing cosmic vibration of the Universe. In Sanskrit it can mean Unity of Spirit, while in Tibetan Buddhism it stands for Pure Spirit.

So as you can see the O.M.Ganesh pendant is highly symbolic in many ways, intending to bring a little more light into your daily routine.

Sunday Breastplate

Every once in a while, I have the extra time to make a one-of-a-kind breastplate. The Sunday Breastplate, from our Spring 2015 Collection,  is adorned with White Leather, Turquoise Stones, and tiny little sandalwood mala beads.

Breastplates originally were used as protective armor for Native Americans during battles. It wasn't until later on down the road that breastplates lost their functionality in battle, and actually became a way to symbolize status instead. Breastplates were then used, and still are, throughout the Native American culture for dances and ceremonies.

Breastplates are the #1 item that I get asked to customize for clients. If you are ever interested in creating a necklace of your own, please feel free to email me! I will be more than happy to make your necklace vision come to reality ;)

Jessica Cuff

Sippin' on some tea in my Jessica Cuff // This bracelet is available in 3 different healing stones.

The Black (onyx) is meant for stabilizing and grounding
The Green (Prehnite) is meant for calmness and unconditional love
The Crystal Quartz is a spiritual stone meant for aura cleansing

The best part about this bracelet... it's adjustable! Meaning, you can loosen it up and wear it as an arm cuff during the warmer months.

jensen body chain

The Jensen Body Chain is the FIRST body chain for Little Pieces of Hope. While I never have personally worn a body chain before, I am finding so many new ways to style it. You may think that body chains are only for the Summer time, but I promise you there are SO many ways to style it for Winter. It's great to wear with a distressed tee and baggy cardigan, or even a long sleeve tee/sweater.

Show us how you style your LPOH accessories by tagging @littlepiecesofhope and #MYLPOH
