Charity: Water

Thanks to all you beautiful people I was able to donate another $300 to Charity: Water. I can't thank y'all enough for all the love and support. You are helping change the world one step at a time, by giving a little piece of hope towards those in need.

There are multiple ways to help the cause

2.) Donate directly to Charity: Water where 100% of the proceeds go towards building water wells in developing countries
3.) Start your own campaign, and come up with fun ideas on how to raise money. They don't call it FUNdrasing for nothing...yep I just did that ;)

Tunesday Artist: Cat Stevens

Today's Tunesday artist of the day is the delightful Cat Stevens. Recently I haven't been able to get this song out of my head. Between the lyrics and the guitar, I find myself wanting to listen to this over and over. There is just something so comforting about Cat Steven's voice. Take a second and enjoy the music ;)

Studio Inspiration

For the past few weeks I have been scrambling to finish my studio. Since I am a total Pinterest junkie I figured I would look online for some inspiration on how to decorate. I couldn't help but fall in love with Another Feather's studio. Here are a few pictures of her lovely studio, and absolutely beautiful jewelry.

Tunesday Artist: Wild Belle

Wild Belle. If you haven't heard of them yet, I highly recommend you go to Spotify immediately and listen up. You won't regret it.

Wild Belle is a indie rock duo, composed of Natalie and Elliot Bergman. No they aren't married, they are actually siblings! My favorite part about this band, besides the music of course, is Natalie's style. I love her effortless bohemian look, and messy long hair. Can't wait to see them at ACL festival ;)

Weekend Warrior

It's the weekend. Finally time to let off some steam, and become a weekend warrior.

I have always been a candle person. I have them in my bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, living room, and just about everywhere else in between. Aromatherapy Genuine not only makes candles but also those amazing smelling diffusers. The bottles and candles always have cute phrases on them such as "choose happiness" or "be amazing". I haven't found one Aromatherapy Genuine product that I didn't like the smell of. These definitely make a new home feel a little bit more cozier.

Lately I have become a huge fan of the boots and cutoff shorts look. Not to mention these booties will transition smoothly into my fall and winter wardrobe.

Lastly the Zilker Feather crown. You can't be a weekend warrior without a little bit of wild. I just recently added these feather crowns into the Little Pieces of Hope Etsy shop and I can't get enough of them.

Iced Green Tea

Iced green tea, my favorite summer drink. It is almost guaranteed that our household has a pitcher of this in our fridge at all times. Not only is iced green tea a refreshing drink for the hottest Texas days, but it also is packed with health benefits. Green tea is said to help with skincare, diabetes, heart disease, depression, weight loss, and even some forms of cancer.

I always like to make my own iced green tea, that way it's not packed with unnecessary sugars. I first start by heating up a pot of water. I then steep my decaffeinated green tea bags. Sometimes I like to mix my green tea with other tea flavors too, such as mint or jasmine. After about 5 minutes, I take out the tea bags and begin to add honey. I prefer local honey due to the fact that local honey is supposed to help with allergies. The honey in these pictures was one of my farmer market finds during my recent trip to Fort Collins, Colorado. BEST honey I have had thus far. You can usually find local honey in your regional grocery stores, or even farmers markets. We usually add 3-5 tablespoons of honey (we like it sweet) but this is totally dependent on your preferred taste. You can add tablespoons, and taste as you go. It's important to add the honey while hot, or else it will be more difficult to mix when the tea is already iced. Finally, it's time to put some ice in a cup and pour in your freshly brewed tea. Voila, thirst quencher.
