care package

With y'all's help we are able to send our very first care package to our Adopted Soldier! Here is a little glimpse of what's inside.

_____________________

-Hygiene Products: Qtips, Baby Wipes, Wet Ones, Gold Bond

- Snacks: Emergen-C, Nutella, Beef Jerky, Gum, Reese's

Above all things, our Soldier tells us Reese's are his absolute favorite. It was extremely difficult not to open these for myself after buying ;)

Other: Playing Cards, Helmet Light, 100 MPH Duct Tape

_____________________

If you are interested in being apart of our next care package there are many ways to help!

1. Buy some Little Pieces of Hope jewelry! 15% of proceeds benefit our Adopt A US Soldier care package

2. If jewelry isn't your thing, but you would like to make a donation, check out our Etsy listing here for our AAUSS Donations. 100% of these proceeds will go to the care package

3. Write a letter. It's said that letters are the best part of a care package. Soldiers like to hear what's happening back in the States. They believe these letters are little "hugs from home". If you are interested in writing a letter, feel free to email me

4. Or if you live in Austin, and are interested in buying a few items for our Soldier, again feel free to email me, and we can coordinate what items are needed and a drop off date

Consciously Fashionable

Over the past 6 months or so, I have had the great pleasure of getting to know fellow Austinite, Sarah Esparza. Sarah, the blogger behind Consciously Fashionable, recently did a interview on Little Pieces of Hope regarding our socially responsible business model. After reading it I thought it would be fun to share, in case any of you were interested in learning more about the company as a whole, and why I started Little Pieces of Hope.

I hope you enjoy, and thank you so much Sarah for all your kind words!

jensen body chain

The Jensen Body Chain is the FIRST body chain for Little Pieces of Hope. While I never have personally worn a body chain before, I am finding so many new ways to style it. You may think that body chains are only for the Summer time, but I promise you there are SO many ways to style it for Winter. It's great to wear with a distressed tee and baggy cardigan, or even a long sleeve tee/sweater.

Show us how you style your LPOH accessories by tagging @littlepiecesofhope and #MYLPOH

running wild // inspo

The LPOH Fall 2014 Collection, Running Wild, is days away from the final debut! With each lookbook I like to show what inspired me for the collection.

This Summer I have had the opportunity to return back to Colorado, more specifically Fort Collins, and make this Summer an adventure to remember. I have traveled throughout the mountains as well as the front range, and soon I'll be packing up my Jeep and heading back home to Austin. While here in Colorado I have met some beautiful new spirits, while also being able to reconnect with some old ones. As always, these people have led me to enjoy the simpler things in live. Whether it be fresh fruit, good beer, the beauty of nature, or even the sound of laughter.

This collection is for all the girls who live simply.
The lovers, the dreamers, and the wild ones at heart.

Charity: Water

Thanks to all you beautiful people I was able to donate another $200 to Charity: Water. Now Little Pieces of Hope has raised a total of $1000 for their September Campaign, which will provide clean water for 100 villages in Orissa, India. My goal this time around is to raise $1,500, so we are $500 away from reaching it! I can't thank you all enough for all the support. You are helping give a little piece of hope towards those in need.

To help reach my goal feel free to donate directly to the cause, or give a gift that gives this holiday season and shop around at the Little Pieces of Hope Etsy shop.

Denim on Denim

I have had a long love affair with denim, but I have to admit I have never personally been a fan of denim on denim. That is until I saw the picture above and was immediately inspired. I absolutely loved how effortless yet stylish and comfortable the girl looked. Thankfully we have had a few cooler, rainy days here in Austin so I figured now was the time to whip out the chambray shirt and denim cutoffs. I wasn't quite daring enough to do the full denim on denim, so I added a simple white tank to break up the look a bit.

Chambray shirt: Urban Outfitters
Cutoff Shorts: Thrifted
Tank: Victoria's Secret
Necklace: Little Pieces of Hope Bohemian Tassel
Sandals: Target
Glasses: Ray Bans...yes these are my actual reading glasses
Book: The 4 Agreements (Just started this book, but I'm absolutely loving it. Definitely recommend to anyone who is looking for a insightful read)

September Campaign

This September, Charity; Water is focusing on helping Orissa, India. This wonderful organization hopes to raise $2 million in order to give a community the clean water they deserve. This money will bring water to nearly 100 villages, in hopes that each household will have 3 separate taps with clean, running water! As of a few days ago, Little Pieces of Hope has officially started fundraising for this wonderful cause. Proceeds from the Little Pieces of Hope Etsy shop will go directly to Charity; Water until December 31, 2013. If jewelry isn't necessarily your thing but you still want to help, no need to worry! Take a look at this link here, and learn more about what you can do :)
