I absolutely love the transition from Spring to Summer when it comes to apparel. For most of the year it's safe to say I dress in my uniform shades of black, white and gray. However in the Summer I like to try and spice it up a bit, so I was super excited to snag this floral dress from Billabong. Not to mention, it has this awesome cutout in the back! What's not to love?!

Whenever I make my "commute" to work each morning, it consists of about 15 steps outside my backdoor and into my little studio right in my backyard. Occasionally my Summer interns make an appearance when they feel like it. Meet Schotzie & Rusty, my Sister's trusty pups, and models for the day.

Sunkissed Summer 2016

Today is the day! The Little Pieces of Hope Sunkissed Summer 2016 Collection is out!

With this collection, I wanted to change things up a bit in terms of design as well as inspiration. Since I went to College in Colorado, I usually take my inspiration from that good ol' mountain living and people. However, this time I thought it would be fun to change locations and focus on that Salty, Sandy & Sunkissed lifestyle.

While searching around on Pinterest, I noticed that beach jewelry is a lot different than "mountain" jewelry. Instead of longer necklaces, I wanted to focus on necklaces that were short, dainty and simple with the ability to layer one upon the other if desired.

Along with the new jewelry designs, we have also switched up our charity for the Summer months to go hand-in-hand with our sunkissed, beachy theme. May I introduce, Surfrider Foundation. Surfrider Foundation is an amazing non-profit that is dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of the world's oceans, waves and beaches. Since my inspiration behind the  Summer 2015 line was Texas and the South, I named every piece from the collection after something, or some place near and dear to my heart...or in this case some place that is on my bucket list for Summer.

May I introduce to you the Jacob Necklace, named after Jacob's Well in Wimberely, Texas. One of my favorite things about Summer in Texas is exploring new swimming holes around the area. Jacob's Well has been on my radar for years, but I just haven't ever taken the drive to see it for myself. Looks like this is the year to change that!

A Collection for the Cowboys, the Rebels, and the Summer Bandits

Let’s be real, living in Texas in the summer time is difficult. It’s too hot, it’s too humid, there are too many bugs… It’s downright miserable at some moments. I have memories of waking up in the early mornings at my Mom’s, to a house full of opened windows because it was the only time of the day that would be below 80 degrees. I can’t even tell you how many times I have gotten into my car to find the candy I just bought from the gas station to already be melted and dripping all over my hands. Yet somehow even with all of its downfalls… it’s still my favorite time to be in Texas.

Texas Summers are all about finding ways to escape the heat. Whether it be adventuring around town to find the next secret swimming hole, eating endless amounts of SnoBeach, or even cracking open a delightful Lone Star beer…or two...or three.

Summer time in Texas is nostalgic for me. It reminds me of high school, and the never-ending search of finding something fun to do with my friends. I have memories of being out on the lake by day, and laying down on an abandoned street, gazing up at the stars by night.  

This collection, Deep in the Heart, is a collection to commemorate all good things Texan. It’s an homage to the great state that raised me, my family, and friends. It has been years since I have spent the entirety of my Summer in Austin, and I couldn't be more excited for what’s to come. Here’s to Summer, and may all you fellow Texans survive

Little Pieces of Hope + Still & Sea

Thank you so very much to everyone who came out this Saturday to the Little Pieces of Hope trunk show at Still & Sea. It was so great to visit with some old friends in Austin, while also meeting some new ones. 

Still & Sea was the absolute perfect place to kick off the first day of Summer. Not only was I surrounded by good friends, but also BEAUTIFUL swimwear. Brigitte, the shop owner, is a genius when it comes to buying for her shop. Growing up in Hawaii, Brigitte was constantly surrounded by babes in bikinis. After trying out the corporate world for a bit, she decided it was time to go out on her own and pursue her dream. Fast forward a little and that's how Still & Sea came to be! Her shop carries brands such as Frankie's Bikinis, Basta Surf, Lisa Lozano and her favorite Acacia Swimwear. You can bet your bottom dollar I left the trunk show with some adorable swimsuits of my own! ;)
