Mobile Loaves & Fishes is a local Austin organization, whose mission is to provide food and clothing to our homeless community. Not only do they aspire to help the homeless people, but they work hard to cultivate community and promote dignity to our homeless brothers and sisters in need.
What's so amazing about Mobile Loaves & Fishes is that they are constantly growing. They first started with their Truck Ministry, something I am grateful to be a part of and experience in my personal life. 7 nights a week, 365 days a year, volunteers hit the streets to provide food, clothing, hygiene products and other life-sustaining items to our homeless neighbors. Over the years ML&F has acquired 19,000 volunteers and has served over 5 million meals. Making it the largest prepared feeding program to the homeless and working poor in Austin.
If that's not amazing enough for you, wait for this...ML&F also created a Community First! Village. a 27 acre master planned community that provides affordable, permanent housing as well as a supportive community, for the disabled and chronically homeless in Central Austin. This Village is a place that enables our homeless brothers and sisters to heal. A place to rediscover hope, renew their purpose and restore their dignity.
